THE WORK.
There are a hell of a lot of people doing good work to make outside feel a little more accessible, safer and more ours. Some run trips. Some teach skills. Some work with queer youth. This is my attempt to put the ones I can actually verify in one place.
Organizations where the current work is explicitly tied to LGBTQ+ people and the outdoors. In the U.S., I’m looking for nonprofit or tax-exempt status; elsewhere, a registered charity or equivalent.
I’m checking the organization’s current mission and the legal status I can actually verify. I’d rather leave something off than use “nonprofit” as a fuzzy vibe.

National organization connecting LGBTQIA+ people with nature through local chapters, hikes, camping trips, events and LGBTQ Outdoorfest. The organization says it became a 501(c)(3) in 2021.
